Big Sur, California
On a 2018 Pacific Coast road trip.
I am a recent graduate of Stanford University School of Engineering's MS&E department, with a focus in Financial Analytics, and a DFJ Entrepreneurial Leadership Fellow for the class of 2019. My coursework is a combination of financial engineering concepts, interspersed with data science and statistical programming.
I graduated maxima cum laude from La Salle University in 2014, with a major in finance and minors in computer science and mathematics. There, I got to hone some of my academic interests -- mathematical modeling, management science, and the history of American business. I'm a huge fan of how La Salle combines its classical liberal arts curriculum with an emphasis on practical, career-oriented study. The school is, hands down, Philadelphia's best-kept secret.
While at La Salle, I got to spend time writing and publishing my Honors Project in the Michigan Journal of Business, was active in the La Salle Ambassadors and Singers, and got to galavant around Rome during a semester abroad. I also did a whole bunch of other college-y things that I'm leaving out.
Learn moreI'm currently building Muffin Data (YC W23), a full-stack analytics platform for retail food and beverage brands.
Prior to Muffin, I spent a couple years on the Product Growth team at Meta, expanding the reach of Facebook and WhatsApp in key emerging markets. Before grad school, I spent 2014-2017 working at RJMetrics, a Series B-funded startup in Philadelphia acquired in 2016 by Magento Commerce. At RJ, we built ETL software to help small- and medium-size businesses make data-driven decisions. As a senior member of our Data Warehouse team, my role was to consult our client book on how to best extract insights from their data. The role calls for a depth of hard tech skills -- data science and warehousing best practices, for example -- as well the breadth of situational experience, consulting on the needs and KPIs of every business model that comes through the door. Previously at RJ, I'd held roles as Implementation Analyst Team Lead (when onboarding was housed in our Customer Success department) and Sales Engineer.
And I love what I do. Any questions? Please drop me a line here.
Learn moreMy dad Peter and I make wine as a hobby, and we crushed the third batch of Calvo Reserve in May 2015. Last year, we made a pure Malbec with grapes from Chile.
We've been steadily raising our batch size every year, making just enough to give away to family and friends. If you have any questions about winemaking (or, you're a friend who wants to try a glass!), please get in touch.
Some shots of my exploits. I've been getting a little bit more outdoorsy every year.
